Notification: Candidates who are shortlisted for the interviews shall be informed by 15 May. The decision of the OCSI Scholarship Committee on the short-listing and selection of candidates shall be final. All short-listed candidates will be required to physically attend an interview with the OCSI scholarship committee at a designated venue in New Delhi, usually in or just before the first week of June. Award offers will normally be made to selected candidates by 15 June.

The OCSI (The Oxford and Cambridge Society of India) proclaims Scholarships for 2014 session to the Indian Universities graduates those who have obtained admissions in either Cambridge or Oxford universities. The OCSI endowments part-cost awards are commonly known as Oxbridge scholarships. The scholarship is meant for undergraduate, post graduate as well as research in any discipline available at the universities of Cambridge and Oxford, UK.

The study level will be included the programmes mentioned hereunder:

Research showing the way to Ph.D degree.
Post-graduate courses of one year Duration (e.g. M.Phil, BCL, LLM, Diploma, CASM or Part III Maths, MBA, PGCE etc).
Bachelor's Degree programme.
Being taught and research based Master's degree programme (M.Sc, Engineering or Medicine).
Second Bachelors degree programme.
OSCI picks no less than one student an year however this number is subject to change from year to year depending upon the bigheartedness of the benefactors

The OCSI Scholarships for 2014


The OCSI is putting forward scholarships for the 2014-15 academic year as programmed below:
One OCSI scholarship valued at INR 4,00,000 (Rupees Four Lacs only) available at either the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford.
A scholarship valued at INR 1,00,000 (Rupees One Lac only) available only at Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge.
A scholarship valued at INR 1,00,000 (Rupees One Lac only) available only at St. Hilda's College, University of Oxford.

What can an OCSI scholar expect to get?
  1. Financial grant of scholarships (as given above and will be different from year to year).
  2. OCSI's letter of support for other scholarship awardees.
  3. Support in expeditious-tracked education worry from an Indian financial institution, based on OCSI Scholarship letter, with automatic loan qualification-status from a reputed financial institution.
  4. Gratis membership for life of the Oxford and Cambridge Society of India.
  5. Tutoring, whereby an of OCSI member shall play the responsibility of a tutor and will support the OCSI during his/her stay at Oxford /Cambridge by providing apposite direction to the award recipients.
  6. Support from OCSI in returning to India and assimilating in the professional setting of India.
Eligibility for the OCSI Scholarship 2014:


The applicants must be a citizen of India.
The applicants must be ordinarily a resident in India.
The applicants must be within 30 years age on 1st May of the year of application for the award.
The applicants must be an Indian university graduate (applicants who are expected to be a graduate in the year of the award are appropriate too to apply for the awards).
Must have applied for and secured admission to study a full-time course at the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford
The applicants must offer proof of admission prior to the grant of the scholarship.
The applicants must offer proof of having taking up residence at Cambridge or Oxford before the scholarships funds would be released.

Must intend to go in for a course of study that is one of the following:
  1. Research showing the way to the PhD degree;
  2. One-year post-graduate courses (e.g. M.Phil, LLM, Diploma, CASM or Part III Maths, MBA, PGCE etc.);
  3. Taught and research based Masters Degree Programme of a range of lengths (as well as M.Sc, engineering, medicine);
  4. Second Bachelors degree as an Affiliated Student/Senior Status o Bachelors degree programme;

Must be admitted, through the University's normal academic process.
OCSI has nothing to do in admitting students or assist in this process. Application Process for OSCI Scholarship 2014:


Application forms can be had by downloading from the website of OSCI as the same is not available directly from the office of the Society.

The declaration about the scholarship would be sent to the universities of Oxford and Cambridge, the British council and selected Indian colleges by 1st Feb 2014.

The short-listed candidates shall be informed by 15th May and later called for an interview.

The concluding award offer may be made to selected candidates within two weeks of the scholarship interviews being held.

This scholarship is not available to those who have received full scholarships from other institution at the time of receiving the award.

Award offers will normally be made to selected candidates by 15th June 2014

Oxford and Cambridge Society of India (OCSI) is offering scholarships for Indian students for the academic year 2017-2018. Scholarships are available for undergraduate, second undergraduate, graduate study and research in any subject available at the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford, UK.

The university’s aim is to examine the impact of the division between further and higher education on strategies to widen participation in undergraduate education.

The Oxford and Cambridge Society of India (OCSI) is a not-for-profit alumni organisation based in New Delhi, India. The scholarships offered by OCSI are Equal Opportunity, i.e. the decisions made in awarding these scholarships are not based on race, colour, religion, disability, age (except for maximum age criterion), sex or ancestry. Relatives of the Executive Committee of the Oxford and Cambridge Society of India are not eligible for consideration for these scholarships.

Applicant must have a certificate of English proficiency test – IELTS/TOEFL/PTE Test/Others.

  • Complimentary life membership of the Oxford and Cambridge Society of India
  • Mentoring, whereby a member of OCSI shall play the role of a mentor and will support the OCSI scholar during his/her stay at Oxford/Cambridge by giving appropriate guidance to the awardee. It shall be the endeavour of the Oxford and Cambridge Society of India to identify a mentor who shares some interests with the OCSI scholar.
  • Assistance from OCSI in returning to India and reintegrating in the professional environment of India.

Scholarship can be taken in the UK

  • Must be a citizen of India
  • Must be ordinarily resident in India
  • Must be not more than 30 years of age on 1 September of the year of application for the award
  • For a post-graduate course or a second undergraduate course, must be a graduate of an Indian university (applicants who are expected to graduate in the year of the award are also eligible to apply for the awards). For a first undergraduate course, must be a graduate from an Indian school/high school/junior college.
  • Must have applied for and secured admission to study a full-time course at the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford. Candidates are required to present proof of admission before grant of the scholarship, and proof of having taking up residence at Cambridge or Oxford before the scholarships funds would be released.
  • Must intend to pursue a course of study that is one of the following:
    • Research leading to the PhD degree
    • One-year post-graduate courses (e.g. MPhil, LLM, Diploma, CASM or Part III Maths, MBA, PGCE etc.)
    • Taught and research based Masters programmes of various durations (including M. Sc. engineering, medicine)

  • Must be admitted to the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford through the University’s normal academic procedures. OCSI cannot admit students or assist in this process.

Nationality: Indian students can apply for these scholarships.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirements:

English Requirements: For Oxford University:-

  • IELTS: overall score of 7.0 (with at least 7.0 in each of the four components)
  • TOEFL (paper-based): overall score of 600 with a Test of Written English score of 5.5
  • TOEFL (internet-based): overall score of 110 with component scores of at least: Listening 22, Reading 24, Speaking 25, and Writing 24.
  • Cambridge English: Advanced, also known as the Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): grade A if taken before January 2015, or a score of at least 200.
  • Cambridge English: Proficiency, also known as the Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): grade B if taken before January 2015, or a score of at least 213.
  • English Language GCSE, or O-level: grade B
  • International Baccalaureate Standard Level (SL): score of 5 in English (as Language A or B)
  • European Baccalaureate: score of 70% in English.

For Cambridge University:-

  • IELTS – normally a minimum overall grade of 7.5, usually with 7.0 or above in each element
  • EU students – a high grade in English taken as part of a leaving examination (eg the European/French Baccalaureate, Abitur etc) may be acceptable
  • Cambridge English: Advanced – grade A or B
  • Cambridge English: Proficiency – grade A, B or C
  • Singapore Integrated Programme (SIP) – may be considered an acceptable English language qualification
